Our Team

Gilakasla! My name is Clyde Dawson and I am a member of the Dzawada’enuxw First Nation. I grew up in U’kwanalis (Kingcome Inlet) and now reside in Comox with my wife & four daughters. As a family we all participate in practicing our traditional language Kwakwala.

I have been making jewelry for over a year now and, although new to this craft, my passion and creativity play out in the pieces I make. It just goes to show that it’s never too late to learn a news skill. You can visit my jewelry shop on Facebook at Clyde’s Copper Creations, or on the Dawson Family Square site.

My name is Lindsay Myers and I am one of the founding members of Turtle Island Connections.

I am a visual artist and mother of two from the Cowichan Valley, BC. I am SO excited to be connecting with the Indigenous community in reclaiming my roots as a Métis woman.

Self-care and wellness has been such an integral part of my journey! I hope you find healing in our kits

My name is Danis Sale and I am from the northern Saskatchewan Cree Nation. I am a co-founder of Turtle Island Connections.

Currently living in Surrey, BC on the unceded territories of Kwantlen and Coast Salish, with my husband and two kids. After having my kids, I felt a pull to finding my roots, finding their roots.

My hobbies include crafting of all forms, from sewing to beading to jewelry making.

Turtle Island is all around and we are here to help connect each other!
